Who is William Hunt?

William George Hunt, CStJ,TD, FCA is the current Windsor Herald of Arms in Ordinary at the College of Arms in London. Hunt worked for many years in the City of London as a chartered accountant. He was appointed as Portcullis Pursuivant of Arms in Ordinary in 1992 and in 1999 he was appointed as Windsor Herald. In 2007 he took over the position of Registrar of the College of Arms from Timothy Duke, Chester Herald. He has been a Member of Council of The Heraldry Society since 1997. He is also Clerk of HM Commission of Lieutenancy for the City of London, a Member of Common Council of the City of London Corporation and a Liveryman and a past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards. He was also a Major in the Honourable Artillery Company, but is now retired. In 2010 he was appointed Genealogist to the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem.

He is married and has two sons.
