Who was William Humble Ward, 2nd Earl of Dudley?
The Earl of Dudley, who succeeded to his title in 1885, was the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1902 to 1905. He served in the South African war, was an honorary major in the army, President of the Royal Zoological Society of Ireland and the first mayor of Dudley. He owned Cloister for a time.
