Who is Abbas Qumi?

Abbas Qumi, also known as "Muhaddith Qumi", was a Shia Hadith scholar. He was born in Qom in 1294 Hijri. Shikah Abbas Qumi was an Islamic Historian, researcher as well as a prime and supreme authority during his time and even now. His works are based upon religious foundations, analysis of Ahadith and narrating several books upon Fiqh and other religious basis. The seal of traditionalists the great historian and researcher Sheikh Abbas Ibne Muhammad Reza Abul Qasim Qummi was born in the city of Qum after 1290 AH. After finishing his elementary education in Qum, he went to Najaf in 1316 A.H. to pursue higher religious subjects, apart from completion of basics like Muqaddamaat and principles of jurisprudence. In Najaf, he got the opportunity to attend the lectures of great scholars and remained under the tutelage of the esteemed teacher Mirza Husain Noori till the latter expired in 1320 A.H.

Al-Haaj Sheikh Abbas Qummi was the embodiment of abstinence and piety. He was second to none in the training of oneself, being aware of the religious laws, trying to follow the infallible Ahle Bait in worship, obedience, caution in speech, and keeping every aspect of oneself away from the prohibitions. He used to give lectures regarding advice and admonitions, the remembrance of Ahle Bait and conveying the traditions of the Holy Ahle Bait. During these lectures tears would flow from his eyes to the extent that they would moisten his beard.
