Who was Aksemseddin?
Akşemseddin war einer der populärsten islamischen Religionsgelehrten des 15. Jahrhunderts. Er war der Lehrer und Scheich ul Islaam von Mehmed II.
Sein Vater starb, als er sieben Jahre alt war. Akşemseddin erhielt eine religiöse Ausbildung, bereiste Persien und Transoxanien und sprach Osmanisch, Hocharabisch und Persisch. Insgesamt siebenmal vollzog er die Haddsch nach Mekka.
Akşemseddin beschäftigte sich neben Islamwissenschaften mit Astronomie, Medizin, Biologie und Mathematik. Als sein wichtigster Lehrer galt Hacı Bayram.
Er betont in seinen Werken mehrmals seine besondere Bewunderung für Abu Hanifa.
