Who was Albert Brunner?

Albert Brunner was a German Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. Brunner claimed 53 aerial victories, all over the Eastern Front. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Albert Brunner died on 7 May 1943 near Petsamo, Finland. Brunner died after his parachute failed to open.
