Who is An Song?

Dr. Song is a Senior Scientist and Associate Director of the BioAnalytical Research & Development (BARD) Department at Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, located in South San Francisco, California, USA. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Indiana University in 1996. From 1996 to 2000 she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics-immunology and Transplantation Biology at Stanford University. Upon completion of postdoctoral work she joined Stanford as a Research Assistant Professor and a faculty of the Immunology Program. She joined Genentech in 2002 and since then has taken on increasing amount of responsibilities over the years. Currently, she is the head of the BARD group responsible for developing pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, anti-therapeutic antibody (ATA), predictive biomarker, and biological characterization assays to support the characterization of biopharmaceuticals in the product development pipeline from early development through post-marketing. Dr. Song is also an active member of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist (AAPS) and involved in the preparation and publication of several industry white papers.
