Who is Anita Zarnowiecki?

Anita Rosa Zarnowiecki is a Swedish swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 4×100 m freestyle relay at the 1970 European Aquatics Championships. She competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in four events and finished sixth and eights in the 4×100 m freestyle and medley relays, respectively.

Being Jewish, she participated at the ninth Maccabiah Games in 1973. She won seven gold medals, surpassing the record of five medals set by Mark Spitz in 1969.

Her twin brother, Bernt Zarnowiecki, also competed in freestyle swimming at the 1972 Summer Olympics.
