Who is Archie Taiaroa?
Sir Archie Taiaroa was a prominent Maori. He chaired the Whanganui River Maori Trust Board and chaired Te Ohu Kaimoana for five years. He was named Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2003 and was knighted in 2009. In the following year he died of a stroke.
