Who is Aslak Bolt?

Aslak Harniktsson Bolt was a Norwegian archbishop. He served as archbishop of Nidaros from about 1427 to 1450. He is known for his detailed register of properties and incomes of the archdiocese, the so-called Aslak Bolt's cadastre from 1432–1433. The properites included thousands of farms, and the cadastre has been an important primary historical source from the period.
