Who is Balasubramaniem?

K.T. Balasubramaniem is a well-known cinematographer from Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu who completed schooling and college in Thirupattur Under the tutelage of P.C. Sreeram for nearly 5 years, he worked in award-winning films such as' Thevar Magan', 'Thiruda Thiruda' and 'Kuruthipunal' . His dedication and passion for cinematography drew the attention of Padmashri Kamal Haasan, who gave him the opportunity to work as Director of Photography in home production Ladies Only. He is noticed for the cinematography in his Debut film, Vaatakudi Eranian, a historical film set in Pre -Independence era. Later, his work in director Bala's award-winning film Pithamagan earned him high praise and much critical acclaim. Noted for his masterful lighting techniques, he won lot of accolades and fame for the flamboyant visuals in the recent film 180.
