Who is Bob Pomann?

Bob Pomann is an American sound designer who has produced thousands of radio and television commercials, as well as movies and cartoons such as Doug and Little Einsteins.

While still in high school, Pomann was handpicked for an internship at Wendell L Craig Inc. Thrust into doing promotional radio for film for Paramount, United Artists, and MGM, eighteen year-old Bob turned out CLIO nominated spots for movies King Kong and For Your Eyes Only.

From there he began doing sound effects for the original Saturday Night Live shorts with the legendary cast, which led to working on Michael O’Donoghue’s NBC television special, Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video.

In 1982, after a year at JC Productions doing radio and TV advertising, Pomann opened his private company Pomann Sound, a full-service audio-post and sound design house, growing the business for the last twenty-nine years and building a creative home. Pomann went on to design sound for Disney’s long form animated series, Doug, his specialized sound now heard on series like Little Einsteins, The Kids Next Door, and over 800 animated episodes. In addition, he sound designed No Love in the City, one of Russia’s largest grossing films to date. His work with Ogilvy, McCann, and Chiat-Day for products like Subway, Nicorette, Verizon Fios, and many more, show Bob’s unprecedented talent, and illustrate his clean, sonic sound design. Pomann Sound was a 2010 Gold Winner Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival and The One Show - Dos Equis radio, Euro RSCG, The Most Interesting Man in the World campaign.
