Who is Carin Mannheimer?
Carin Mannheimer is a Swedish dramatist, screenwriter, author and film director. Mannheimer gained acclaim with the book Rapport om kvinnor. The situation of women, children and the elderly in society are recurring themes in her writing, including the television mini-series she wrote and directed; Lära för livet, about a fictional ninth-grade class, and Solbacken: Avd. E about elderly care. Svenska hjärtan was a long-running series about nine neighbors who belong to a new class of white-collar workers in Sweden and live in an affluent townhouse neighborhood. On the surface their lives appear to be idyllic, but under the surface their existence proves to be fragile.
