Who is Dante Jenkins?

Dante J. grew up on the northeast side of a city called El Paso, Texas. As a youngster he would listen to a lot of Rap and R&B Soul.

He wrote his first rap verse at 9 years old. His friends around that time and even older people told him that he had a gift with writing, singing and rapping.

Dante had a childhood with some ups and with many deep emotional wounds. His biological parents split up around the time he was born causing a lot of extra childhood issues growing up.

Around his mid teens he began to sell drugs, abuse drugs and drink a lot. By the time he was 16 he was already in trouble with the law with a felony arrest of a controlled substance. (mdma)

He began recording songs around the age of 15-16 and his friends used to call him "tay-scrillah, Scrill-Villie or Scrillah"

From age 16 up until his early 20s he would record songs and perform at bars & clubs on & off but he couldn't really focus the way he wanted to because of his alcohol/drug addiction.

Throughout these years he was abusing drugs heavily, drinking heavily, selling drugs, running the streets and in & out of trouble with the law.

Sometime when he was around his early 20s he had got incarcerated and sent to TDCJ state prison till he was almost 26.

In the penitentiary is where he truly found Christ.

When he was released from prison he had messed up a couple more times on parole but he then finally learned his lesson, surrendered to God and continued his faith in Christ.
