Who is Darren McCarthy?
Darren McCarthy is an Irish hurler who plays as a goalkeeper for the Cork senior team.
McCarthy joined the panel during the 2012 championship as a substitute goalkeeper to Anthony Nash. He has yet to make his senior debut and has enjoyed little success as an unused sub.
At club level McCarthy is an All-Ireland medalist in the intermediate grade with Ballymartle. In addition to this he has also won one Munster medal and one premier intermediate championship medal.
