Who is David Banks?
David Banks is an English academic and journalist specialising in media law. He teaches media law and has co-authored the 18th, 19th and 20th editions of McNae's Essential Law for Journalists.
Banks contributes articles on media law to The Guardian and works as a media law consultant for Press Association, BBC, Northcliffe Newspapers, The Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Johnston Press, London Metro, London Family Courts, Northumbria Police, Cafod, Barnardo's, Greenpeace and Comic Relief.
In 2010 Banks was invited to be a member of the Ministry of Justice's working group looking at the law of libel.
