Who is Deanne Lane?

' ' ' Deanne Lane' ' ' was a anchor and a reporter at KSDK-TV, She joined KSDK in October of 1983, She is an emmy award winning journalist, She co-anchored NewsChannel 5 at 6:00 pm with Dan Gray (now at KPLR-TV) and doubles as a "Nightbeat" Reporter on NewsChannel 5 at 10:00 pm.

In 1992, Deanne took to the streets as a homeless person on a 6-part reporter entitled "People Like You and Me" This award winning series examined the struggles of local homeless people, their options, and how they survivive. Based on Deanne's Series, NewsChannel 5 instituted a community event in cooperation with the St. Louis Food Bank to collect food and clothing for area homeless, The Event called "Care Bank 5" collected 75,000 pounds for food and other items in its first year and also yielded cash donations to the Food Bank. "Care Bank 5" is now an annual event provides the areas homeless shelters with much needed supplies.

Deanne is the Honorary Chair of the "For all the Walks of Life" annual AIDS Foundation of the St. Louis walk-a-thon, She is committed to many other community organizations, She has been recognized by many of them including the Humane Society, The Missouri Special Olympics, and the American Cancer Society, Deanne has been honored with the YWCA's Leadership Award and The Missouri Nurses Association Media Award.

Before Lane went to KSDK, She began her career at WJIM-TV in Lansing, MI, She was an anchor and a writer and a producer and did report stories during her sorphmore year at Michigan State University, She also graduate from Michigan State University, Recently, Deanne's Husband Gregory Goodrich has died, They were married for 23 years. She has her son griffin and resides at Kirkwood, Missouri.
