Who is Denise Wong?
Denise Wong is a Canadian actor from Calgary. In 2008, she starred in a production of Spring Awakening at Mount Royal University, where she attended as a student. After graduating, she acted in Offensive Fouls. She also acted in Rogue Theatre's production of Some Girl in 2010. In this production, she portrayed Bobbi, a romantic interest of the play's main character. Also in 2010, she acted in Ronin Theatre's production of Sexual Perversity in Chicago at the Calgary Fringe Festival. In February 2011, she acted in the premiere of She Has a Name in the title role as Number 18. She attested to becoming more emotionally involved in the themes of the play than she had originally anticipated. Louis Hobson of the Calgary Sun praised Wong's portrayal of Number 18, saying that even though Wong is an adult, she exudes the vulnerability, youth, and innocence of a child while on stage. Later in 2011, she portrayed Cloris in These Men at the Calgary Fringe Festival.
