Who was Digvijay Singh?
Digvijay Singh was an Indian politician from the state of Bihar and was an independent Member of the Parliament of India representing Banka in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. He died on 24 June 2010 in London after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
Singh served as a Member of the Parliament of India five times – three times in the Lok Sabha and two times in the Rajya Sabha. He served as Union Minister of State in the Chandrashekhar Government and later in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee led National Democratic Alliance Government. He had also served as the President of National Rifle Association of India since 1999.
