Who is Dipendu Biswas?

Dipendu Biswas is an Indian footballer. He played a significant part in Indian football in the 1990s and is now a sports broadcaster.

He graduated from the Tata Football Academy in 1996 and captained the under 19, under 21 and Indian senior teams, as well as East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and MD Sporting, and also played for Mahindra United. His total goal score at national and international levels is 242. He joined Mohun Bagan again in 2012.

His earnings in 1998–1999 were reported to be Rs1.2 million and in 1999–2000 were Rs0.8 million. In 2011 he was one of a handful of players who were sold land by the government at subsidised prices because they had "made the state proud at national and international levels."

Dipendu also plays the tabla.
