Rev. Dr. Edgar H. S. Chandler was a Congregational minister, U.S. Navy chaplain during World War II, leader of church organizations including the refugee resettlement division of the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland and the Church Federation of Greater Chicago, and active leader in civil rights who worked with Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and other leaders.
