Who is Edward F. Neild?

Edward F. Neild was an American architect. He was the lead architect for the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum and designed many other buildings.

He worked alone and in partnerships Neild, Somdal and Neild, Somdal, Neild, with partners Dewey A. Somdal and with his son, Edward F. Nield, Jr. Somdal Associates, Shreveport is the modern descendant firm.

Edward F. Neild served as president of the Shreveport, Louisiana chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1926, and 1937-1939; Dewey Somdal served as president 1940-1943; Edward F. Nield, Jr., served as president in 1951.

Edward F. Neild was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1884.

A number of Nield's works are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
