Who is Edward Fraunceys?
Edward Fraunceys was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1597 and 1626.
Fraunceys may be the Edward Francis who was at Shrewsbury School in 1577 and at St John's College, Cambridge in 1582. He was steward to Henry Percy, 9th Earl of Northumberland by 1594 and was of Petworth Sussex. In 1597, he was elected Member of Parliament for Beverley and re-elected for the same constituency in 1601. He was paymaster to the gentlemen pensioners in 1603 and was knighted around 1603. In 1604 he was elected MP for Haslemere. In 1614 he was elected MP for Steyning, and was re-elected for Steyning in 1621, 1624, 1625 and 1626.
Fraunceys married Elizabeth and had one daughter.
