Who is Edward Laborio?
Edward Laborio, is a former professional baseball right-handed pitcher, who played in the minor leagues.
He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 25th round of the 1968 MLB June Amateur Draft from Cranston High School West. He was the first athlete to be signed by a professional sports organization from the Cranston West High School. He played four consecutive seasons in the Detroit Tigers baseball organization. He received the Providence Journal Bulletin, Rhode Island all-state Baseball award in 1968. He is co-founder of the Rhode Island Baseball Academy & Institute. He is a member of the Rhode Island Italo-American athlete hall of fame.
