Who is Elaine Feeney?

Elaine Feeney is an Irish poet.

Feeney was born in Galway and has lived much of her life in Athenry. She won the CĂșirt Grand Slam in 2008. She was educated at the town's Presentation College, and teaches English at St. Jarlath's College, Tuam. She resides in Athenry with her husband Ray Glasheen and two sons. Feeney has performed widely since her first success in the Galway Arts centre monthly poetry slam in 2006. Her performances include the Vilenica Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe and she has performed numerous times at the Electric Picnic. She was a guest at the 2011 CĂșirt International Literature Festival.
