Who was Elisa Hall?
Elise Hall is one of the first prominent female saxophonists in the United States. She was the founder of the Boston Orchestral Club. She was a patron of saxophone repertory, ordering scores from Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, Vincent d'Indy, André Caplet and other composers of the day. At age 47 she began to study saxophone with George Longy.
