Who is Emanuele Nicolini?

Emanuele Nicolini is a Sammarinese swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. Nicolini made his official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he competed for the men's 400 m freestyle, an event which was later dominated by Australia's world-record holder and swimmer Ian Thorpe. He finished in third place and forty-second overall by eight seconds behind Miguel Mendoza of the Philippines, who eventually won the first heat, with a time of 4:08.28.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Nicolini swam in the first heat of the 200 m freestyle, against Georgia's Irakli Revishvili and Macedonia's Mihajlo Ristovski. He finished the race in last place by approximately two seconds behind Ristovski, with the slowest time of 1:59.47. Nicolini, however, failed to advance into the semi-finals, as he placed fifty-seventh in the overall rankings.
