Who is Emilia di Girolamo?

Emilia di Girolamo is a TV writer and published author. Emilia has a First in Drama and a PhD in the rehabilitation of offenders using drama based techniques from Middlesex University.

She started writing for EastEnders in 2008 before joining Law & Order UK in 2009. Her first episode of Law & Order UK, Hidden, was described by Radio Times as "a grippingly bizarre case. As viewers, the journey we travel is long, dark and beset with the kind of vicious twists and reverses that leave us reeling". According to The Guardian the episode "pushed past its BBC1 rival Hustle in the battle for the 9pm ratings crown with an audience of 5.7 million and a 22% share, up 100,000 and one share point on last week."

Emilia joined the core writing team of Law & Order UK for series 3&4 and took over as Co-Producer and Lead Writer for series 5&6. She has penned 10 episodes in total but announced she was leaving at the end of season 6 to pursue other projects.
