Who is Eric A. Stern?
Eric Stern is a Montana public official and writer. He has served as Senior Counsel to the Governor of Montana, Brian Schweitzer and as Deputy Secretary of State. Stern managed Schweitzer’s first campaign in 2004, when Schweitzer became the first Democrat since 1984 to be elected Governor and later served as Schweitzer’s senior aide and legal advisor. He has also written as a guest columnist for the New York Times and Salon Magazine and has been a political commentator on MSNBC, CNN, the Larry King show Larry King Show and Bloomberg TV and Radio. He is a former Clinton Administration aide and a graduate of Columbia Law School and Connecticut College. He led Mexico’s 2003-04 effort to acquire a Major League Baseball franchise. Stern’s father is David Stern, Commissioner of the National Basketball Association.
