Who is Eric Diesel?

Eric John Diesel is an American mathematician, real estate developer, producer, and social activist. He directs the T.H. Huxley and Aldous Huxley Family Foundation, works and lectures in the field of neuroethics, and is active in political issues involving Korea, California ecology, and care for the elderly and dependent adults. He lectured on the philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of science, cinema, history, and political science at Stanford University, helped create the Stanford Statistical Consulting Service, and ran the Stanford Advertising Agency.

He received the Meritorious Service Medal from Korean Veterans in 2009, and the Ambassador for Peace Award from the Republic of Korea in 2007. In 2006, he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles for “exemplary achievement in his field and notable contributions to society”. He received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award from Phi Beta Kappa, Sherwood Prize in Mathematics from the University of California Los Angeles, and the Abrams Award in Statistics from Stanford University.

Eric Diesel is business partners with business magnate Louis Lesser in Lesser Diesel Enterprises, a real estate development and land preservation company. He was partners with Laura Archera Huxley in directing the Huxley Family Foundation. He was partners with Heidi Fleiss in the Hollywood Madam clothing store, producing fashion shows for charity fundraisers. He owned and operated Palo Alto Mercedes Benz, and was partners with mathematician George Golitzin in owning a redwood forest and timber preserve.
