Who is Eric Luzzi?
Eric Luzzi is the head men's soccer coach at Northern Illinois University. He has held that position since 2009, and has posted a 10-8-1 record at the helm. In just his first season, he led the Huskies to a 1-1 draw to number 1 ranked North Carolina. His team also posted impressive victories over Oregon State University, University of Wisconsin–Madison and University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
In 2011, Luzzi's Huskies went 15-6-0 overall. He led the Huskies to a MAC Championship with a 1-0 win over Western Michigan University in the MAC tournament final. With this win, the Huskies gained an automatic place in the NCAA tournament, winning 3-0 in their first round match versus Western Illinois University. The Huskies then lost 3-0 in the second round to eventual College Cup semi-finalist Creighton University.
He played goalkeeper at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago and at Saint Mary's University.
