Who was Ernst Krieck?
Ernst Krieck was a German educationalist who served as the Rector of Goethe University Frankfurt during the Nazi era. He was a professor of pedagogy at the Frankfurt University.
He joined the Nazi Party in 1932 and served with the National Socialist Teachers League before in 1934 working with the Sicherheitsdienst. He joined the Schutzstaffel in 1938 and eventually obtained the honorary rank of Obersturmbannführer.
Krieck was a passionate supporter of "German Physics," a nationalist trend which believed that the German people must develop their own scientific philosophy and methods, particularly to avoid the perceived stain of Jewish influence.
