Who is George Leventhal?
George Leventhal is a Democratic politician from the state of Maryland. He is currently serving his third term as an At-large member of the Montgomery County Council. Leventhal was first elected to the Montgomery County Council in 2002, served as Council President in 2006, and was re-elected to second and third terms in 2006 and 2010, respectively. In his eight years on the Montgomery County Council, George L. Leventhal has been a leading advocate for low-income residents and the uninsured, the Purple Line and environmental issues.
