Who was Gerald George Fitzgerald?
Gerald George Fitzgerald was a 19th-century Member of Parliament from the West Coast, New Zealand.
Fitzgerald arrived in Lyttelton on the Castle Eden on 14 February 1851. He unsuccessfully contested the 1881 by-election in the Grey Valley electorate, but was beaten by Thomas S. Weston. He represented the Hokitika electorate from the 1881 general election to 1884, when he was defeated.
He was a brother of James FitzGerald. Like his brother, he was a journalist of considerable ability.
