Who was Gillis Coignet?
Gillis Coignet, Congnet or Quiniet was a Flemish Renaissance painter, who was strongly influenced by the Italian style. He painted historical and mythological subjects of an easel size, but was more successful in landscapes, in candlelight subjects, and moonlight.
