Who is Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda?
Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda, is a paralympic high jumper from India. He jumped a height of 1.74m in the final of the 2012 Summer Paralympics Men's High Jump, to finish in the silver medal position in the competition. He become the first Indian to win a medal at that event. The athlete is supported by "Karnataka Sports Association for Physically Handicapped", Bangalore. The Government of India has also provided support to Nagarajegowda. Now, He is only the ninth medalist of India at Paralympics & only the third to claim silver at the Paralympics He was awarded with "Rajyotsava Award" by the Government of Karnataka in 2012. He was awarded "Padma Shri" by the Government of India in 2013.
