Who is Goli Rezai Rashti?
Goli Rezai-Rashti is an Iranian-born Canadian educational sociologist and professor at The University of Western Ontario, Canada. She was Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, of the Faculty of Education.
Rezai-Rashti entered the University of Toronto as a graduate student, gaining MA in 1977, and PhD in 1986 in Educational Theory. She has published more than fifty academic articles and books on the various areas of education such as teachers’ work and educational restructuring, race, gender, class, sexuality and schooling, globalization, internationalization, antiracist and anti-oppressive education, investigating the perspectives of minority students and teachers in urban schools, feminist and postcolonial studies in education, Muslim students and Canadian schools, women and higher education in Iran, democratic education and critical pedagogy, and boy’s underachievement in schools.
Her most recent book is Gender, Race and the Politics of Role Modeling: The Influence of Male Teachers which has been jointly written by Wayne Martino.
