Who is Hans Neuberger?
Hans Hermann Neuberger was head of Pennsylvania State University's Department of Meteorology.
Born in Mannheim, Germany, he received a doctorate from the University of Hamburg in 1936 and emigrated to the US in 1937, beginning his career as an instructor of geophysics. His skills in the creation and use of instrumentation were notable; he designed a polarimeter. He retired in 1970 but continued to teach at the University of South Florida. Penn State established the Hans Neuberger teaching award in 1972.
