Who is Harry Taylor?
Harry Warren Taylor, is a former professional baseball player who was an infielder in the Major Leagues in 1932. After beginning his career with the Seattle Indians he was sold to and would play for the Chicago Cubs. An injury sent him back to the Chicago farm system as a Player/Manager. "Handsome Harry" volunteered into the Navy at the beginning of WWII and, although he took all of the combat training, because of his age and background as a professional athlete, he was made a fitness officer. After the war he rejoined the Cubs organization for a short time and then became a business man until his death from leukemia in 1969. At the time of his death he was survived by his second wife, a son, a daughter and a granddaughter.
