Who is Heather Linstad?

Heather Linstad was the women's ice hockey coach at the University of Connecticut, coaching the Connecticut Huskies. She previously coached at Northeastern. Actively, she is in her 12th season as the Huskies head coach, after coaching the other Huskies for nine. She also was a player at Providence. On February 13, 2010, Linstad obtained her 300th win as a head coach, with a 4–1 over the alma matter Friars.

In June 2011, Linstad was named the head coach of the United States U-18 women's ice hockey team. She will hold this position at least through the 2011–12 year. She has also won the ECAC Coach of the Year.

Linstad abruptly resigned from her coaching position on March 13, 2013. A lawsuit filed against the University of Connecticut suggests Linstad allegedly dismissed a female hockey player from the team for not being stable enough following an alleged on-campus sexual assault by a male hockey player in 2011.
