Who is Hedgemon Lewis?
Hedgemon Lewis is a former American professional boxer and trainer. Lewis began boxing at the age of 12, out of the Northern Recreation Center in Detroit. As a young, aspiring fighter he boxed as part of the same camp as renowned coach Emmanuel Steward. During a distinguished amateur career, Lewis picked up the National Golden Gloves Lightweight title in 1964 and the Welterweight title in 1966. He turned professional in May 1966.
