Who was Henry Furnese?
Henry Furnese was a British politician.
He was born the only son of George Furnese, an East India factor.
He entered Parliament as M.P. for Dover, Kent from 1720 to 1734 and Morpeth, Northumberland from 1738 to 1741. He then represented New Romney from 1741 until his death.
He served as Secretary to the Treasury from July–December 1742 and as Lord of the Treasury from 1755 until his death.
He died unmarried in 1756.
