Humphrey Coningsby

Who is Humphrey Coningsby?

Sir Humphrey Coningsby, was an English lawyer and Justice of the King's Bench.

Humphrey Coningsby was born in England, the son of Thomas Coningsby and his wife, Katharine Waldiffe. His family came from northern Worcestershire.

He was a lawyer by the 1480s. One May 21, 1509, he became a Justice of the King's Bench, and held that position until November 28, 1533. He was knighted by King Henry VIII during his tenure.

Coningsby died on 2 June 1535.

He and his wife, Alice Ferebie, had eight children. Their son, William Coningsby, was also a Justice of the King's Bench.
