Who is Inga of Varteig?
Inga of Varteig, was the mistress of King Haakon III of Norway and the mother of King Haakon IV of Norway. She successfully performed a Trial by ordeal to prove her son's right to the Norwegian throne.
An annual skiing race for women, the Ingalåma, which started in 1993, is named after her.
