Who is Jamal Ali?

Jamal Ali Hamza is an Iraqi football midfielder who played for Iraq in the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He also played for and now coaching Al Minaa.

Jamal Ali was one of the most talented midfielders of his generation, playing for the Iraqi Olympic team at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. He was later turned into a left back.

Jamal who was first selected to played for the Iraq in 1977, played a large part in the Iraqi Under 19s team which shared the Asian Youth Championship title in 1975 in Kuwait after drawing 0-0 with Iran.

He was selected by Brazilian coach Evaristo de Macedo in Iraq’s 1986 World Cup squad but he was also one of four squad members, who did not get an appearance in Mexico.

The Talaba legend who made 17 international appearances for the Iraq, and was part of the Iraqi B team that finished second to South Korea in the 1977 Merdeka Cup.
