Who is James Arnold?

James Arnold, or ``JDA`` as he is affectionately known, is an English commercial artist who developed a passion for the wagons that he saw on his cycling tours of the countryside in the pre- and post-War years. He set about producing painstakingly accurate measured drawings and watercolours of all the main regional types that he came across and these he included in a series of books beginning with The Joyous Wheel and including The Farm Waggons of England and Wales. In 2003, he moved to Nova Scotia, Canada and took up studies at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Up until his departure in 2006, he was a staple at all of the most exclusive nightclubs and was frequently seen cruising around town in his 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. After moving back to his home-state of Maine, he opened and operated several successful Hardees` and Del Taco restaurants. As of 2012, JDA resides in Portland, ME. He occupies a rental property owned by his former Nova Scotian landlord Darren.
