Who is James Holmes?

James Holmes is a West Midlands-born comedy actor, best known for playing the character of Clive in the 2009 BBC sitcom Miranda. After leaving school, he did a Youth Training Scheme working in the props department of the Belgrade Theatre Coventry. He has appeared in various off-West End and regional theatre productions, including playing Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest for the New Players Theatre and various roles in Catherine Tate's theatre comedy show. Holmes trained at The Poor School in London. He also had an appearance as a helpful Citizen's Advice volunteer in two episodes of the TV series Psychoville with Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. He once appeared in Dani's House as food critic Floyd Ackerman.

He played the part of Roy Silver alongside Penelope Keith in the BBC Radio 4 adaptation of the Agatha Raisin series by M.C Beaton, Marion Chesney. He also appeared briefly in Coronation Street.
