Who is James Longmuir?

The Very Rev James Boyd Longmuir CBE, DD, TD was an eminent Church of Scotland minister in the 20th century.

He was born on 26 April 1907 and educated at Dalziel High School and the University of Glasgow. He was ordained to Swinton Parish in 1934 where he served until 1952, including World War II service with the Royal Army Chaplains' Department. After that he was Minister at Chirnside. He was Dean of the Chapel Royal and Chaplain to HM Bodyguard for Scotland from 1969 to 1973. An Honorary Chaplain to the Queen, he died on 22 October 1973
