James "Jimmy" D. Metcalfe born in Cumberland, was an English rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1890s, 1900s, and '10s, playing representative level rugby union for Yorkshire, and at club level for Askam RUFC, Barnsley RUFC, and Featherstone RUFC, and playing representative level rugby league for Yorkshire, and at club level for Wakefield Trinity, as a Fullback, i.e. number 1.
