Who is Jan Anderson?
Jan Mary Anderson FRS is a scientist from New Zealand, distinguished by her investigation of photosynthesis. She was the first to show that the photosynthetic mechanism comprises two fundamental components: photosystem I and photosytem II. Anderson is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Australian National University.
She has received many honors and awards for her work, including election as a fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 1987, and as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1996.
