Who is Jane Slaughter?

Jane Slaughter is a British actress who is best known for playing the recurring background role of Tracey in EastEnders since its first episode on 19 February 1985. This role has made her the longest serving female character on the show.

As a child, Slaughter trained at Elmhurst Ballet School, but came to realise that she preferred acting and has, in addition to the role mentioned above, appeared as Petrova in Ballet Shoes in 1975 and as Joanna in The History Man in 1981. Slaughter has two sons.
